Brent has presented at schools for young authors week. He shares his love for reading and writing with all the students. As with his other assemblies he prefers a smaller number of students per presentation. This creates a more impactful experience. Brent's first two books were written while fighting for his life, with a blood infection. Brent spent seven months (24/7) in an hospital bed with three IV'S in his arm fighting his infection. He shares with his audience how reading and writing saved his life. Brent shares how both let him escape his "dark place" and be where ever his mind escaped too. He was that 2nd grade boy named Harley dealing with bullying and becoming the hero in his children's book "Playground Lessons; Friendship and Forgiveness." Brent also shares the emotional ride of writing his autobiography "Tragedy on the Mountain; From Paralysis to Paralympics." He is forever grateful to Dr. Lucil Richardson who believed his stories, both fiction and non-fiction could inspire others and had a place in the literary world. Without her guidance and support both Brent and his books may not have survived.
